ExxonMobil Employees Buying Homes In The Woodlands

Everyone is talking about the impact the ExxonMobil campus will have on housing 2-3 years from now as it nears completion. What most do not realize is that local ExxonMobil employees are quietly buying homes in The Woodlands now! Why? Because they are not receiving relocation assistance if they live within a certain radius of the new campus.

ExxonMobil employees currently living in Sugarland, Katy, Kingwood and others parts of Houston are trying to beat their counterparts who have to wait for their relocation packages to be finalized. They have decided to reverse their commute for a few years to avoid future competition for homes. This is partly why we are seeing multiple offers on properties with many homes going under contract the first week on the market! Also driving this buying frenzy, is the Waste Connections factor, as they have over 2000 employees relocating in from CA and the majority have been assigned a Realtor and are buying homes now as well.

These factors, coupled with very limited new construction opportunities in areas that attend The Woodlands High Schools, means an upward trend in resale home prices in the Villages of Sterling Ridge, Indian Springs, Cochrans Crossing, Alden Bridge and Grogans Mill. The Village of Creekside is also seeing the benefit with a rise in new homes sales.

If you are thinking about selling, now is a great time to list your property. Please contact me if you would like additional details on this topic or if you need assistance on buying or selling a home.
